What are skin peels?

Skin peels are a form of exfoliation and are perfectly healthy for all skin types.  As we age, sun damage, pollution, chemicals and certain cosmetics, alongside the body's natural ageing process, can result in skin damage and the need for some extra assistance.  Skin peels will re-educate the way the skin grows and help to remove dead or damaged skin resulting in a post rejuvenated and glowing complexion.

Many peels contain acids, known as Alpha-hydroxy acids, or beta-hydroxy acids.  These acids are safe and come from natural sources.  They usually only penetrate the upper layer of the skin and are considered to be superficial peels.

How can they help?

These Peels are often used to:

  • Help maintain healthy skin and is quite effective for those affected by acne.

  • Anti-ageing care and also help to remove the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Boost skin elasticity and slow collagen breakdown.

  • Remove unwanted discolouration (moderate).

  • improve texture and tone

Our different types of peels:

Our salicylic acid peel, is a good basis to start from and is considered a lighter peel.  For many, this peel is sufficient and has little downtime.  Our collaboration with Obagi, allows us to provide the "Blue radiance peel," with proven results.  Salicylic acid is great for those suffering with acne.  The acid helps unclog pores and prevent lesions, which stops bacteria build up.

We also provide the "Bright & even peel" by PCA which contains, lactic acid (from milk) and mendelic acid (from almonds).  This peel is great for darker and sensitive skin types and is one our key peels in our clinic.  It is suitable for all skin types.

Our PCA range continues with the "Pigment correct peel" which contains a range of acids including tranexamic acid which blocks the pathways which triggers new pigmentation formation.  This peel is specifically designed to correct stubborn hyperpigmentation, sun damage, melasma and dark inflammatory spots across all skin types.

Finally, our "No-peel peel" also by PCA, gently exfoliates the skin with minimal downtime.  This combination of lighter acids allows us to enjoy some of the benefits of a peel whilst carrying on with our daily lives without the peeling effect.  Skin dryness will occur and post-procedure protocols are still advised.

Our next peel

Finally, our medium depth peel the "Perfect peel," goes deeper than other peels (into the dermis) and has a range of Alpha and beta-hydroxy acids, combined with skin brightening ingredients.  This peel is perfect for those who have stubborn pigmentation, acne or other skin concerns.  The perfect peel produces outstanding results and one treatment alone can be enough to meet your required needs.  The downtime can be slightly longer with this peel and a home-care protocol will be provided for the following 5 days.

Skin may take 2 days to begin peeling and can take up to 14 days to completely heal.

Note: Our chemical peels can only be used by trained staff and will only be supplied after a consultation.

Alternative skin treatments:
1. Oxy-trio treatment
2. advanced retinol skin booster

3 skin peel sessions are usually required to achieve optimum results, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.  However, a single session can have significant results.

Price: from £85 per treatment
